 How to revert to last saved PDF (after changes are made)

Product:Platform:Area:Versions:
Impressario for DirectorAllPDF Customizationv2.x

Summary

After modifications to a PDF (replacing bitmap images, or insert/deleting/moving pages), the modified document remains in Director's cache. So, if you switch to another frame, or stop your movie and restart, the original saved PDF is not refreshed; the one displayed has the last changes you made, even if the document was not saved.

Solution

The only way to refresh the original, or last saved PDF, is to reset the filename property to something else and set it back again.

If you want your user to be able to revert to the last saved document, execute the following code on a button or frame script:

on Revert2Saved
tmpName = member("myPDF").filename
member("myPDF").filename = ""
member("myPDF").filename = tmpName
end Revert2Saved
