On some servers, when trying to open a record set this error is returned by the ODBC driver:

error ODBC Error. SQLState: 22003. Native error: 17. Diagnostic Msg [Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access 97 Driver] Numeric value out of range.


This problem can appear in at least two situations. The first one is that Goldengate is not compatible with the specific ODBC Driver used by the database. The second one is that the OS ODBC Drivers are outdated. GoldenGate server only support ODBC Drivers version 3.50 or better.

It is a good idea to use the ODBC Checktool supplied with the GoldenGate server package to see if the ODBC Driver is compatible, and to find out what it's version is. In the case of Access 97, the initial version was 2.50. If the version is too low, you need to update those drivers by getting an ODBC Update from the Microsoft website.
