Nothing happens when trying to open or print a document
Product:Platform:Area:Version:
PDF Xtra for Director Windows, Mac Classic (not for Mac OS X)   2.x, 3.x,7.x

Summary

Sometimes nothing happens when trying to open or print a PDF document even though no error messages appear. This may occur if the commands were issued to Acrobat/Reader too fast, while the application is still loading.

Solution

Give Acrobat time to load before calling any PDF Xtra methods, or using any PDF Xtra behaviors.

Director's stage will not update itself until the Adobe application is fully loaded. Therefore, if you call any PDF Xtra methods at least one frame after the PDF sprite appears in the score, you can be sure the Acrobat/Reader application will be open. If you have buttons that the user can click to execute PDF Xtra methods or Behaviors, place these interface buttons on a frame following the initial appearance of the PDF document.
