Answers
Question 1: Do you make a Macintosh version of DataGrip Net?
No, it only runs on Windows 32 bit operating systems.
Question 2:What is the IP address for the sample DataGrip Net server?
216.167.112.1
Question 3: How do I connect a client and a server if they are the same machine?
Send an empty string to the login command. Ex: DGN_Login("").
Question 4: Do you have a server for Unix?
No, the servers require '95, '98, NT, 2000, or XP. Which development tools will work with Datagrip Net? Director 5, 6, 7, 8.5+Authorware 4, 5, 6+.
Question 5:What is a CUL?
A CUL stands for Concurrent User License. Essentially it is the number of people that can be connected to your server at any one time. Since a typical connection is only a few seconds a 20 CUL server can handle hundreds of users. If you would like assistance determining how much of a server you need contact support@inm.com.
Usually the problem is that the users do not have read and write permissions for that computer. If you turn on the permissions you will most likely solve the problem
Question 6: Is DataGrip prone to errors due to the recent bug found in Microsoft Access?
No. The bug only occurs when using a Jet method known as Bookmarking. DataGrip does not utilize this function so you do not have to worry about running in to this bug. I can't get DataGrip to run under Authorware 5. I get an error saying VBA Jet is failing to initialize.
How do I fix this?
Microsoft recently changed some of the files that are required to open MS Access databases which means there are additional files to ship with your applications. If you run in to this problem you will need to copy EXPSRV.DLL to the troubled system.
