When entering text manually in multi-line PDF fields that have the "Scroll
long text" property turned off, there may be problems, such as spaces being
ignored, and the deletion of characters when the Carriage Return (Enter) key is
pressed. These fields generally just don't work properly.
There is a workaround solution. Instead of turning off the scroll long text
option, you can limit the number of characters in field.
- In Acrobat, right-click the field and select Properties...
- In the Options tab, check the box labeled "Scroll
- Check the box labeled "Limit of "
- Specify a number of characters that should fit within the dimensions of your
multi-line field. You may have to experiment.
When the SetFields function is used to set the value of text fields, even if
Scroll long text is turned off, there is no problem.
