How to avoid outlines with transparent Impressario sprites
Impressario for DirectorAllDisplayAll

By using Director's ink properties, you can make an Impressario sprite transparent or semi-transparent so that underlying graphical elements and background images are visible through the PDF document.

When transparent documents, containing anti-aliased text and images, are displayed against a contrasting background color, there are often noticeable outlines left surrounding the text or graphics. This result is normal when using transparent inks with any bitmap whose background color is different from the color behind the object in Director.

There is a workaround solution. If you call the Impressario global method IMP_SetSmoothing() you can selectively turn on or off the anti-aliasing of text, bitmap images, or line art independently. This removes the outlines, but your text and line art will not be aliased.

-- turn off aniti-aliasing before displaying transparent document
    IMP_SetSmoothing([#SmoothText:False, #SmoothLineArt:False, #SmoothImages:False])

-- turn it back on before displaying an opaque document
    IMP_SetSmoothing([#SmoothText:True, #SmoothLineArt:True])

This method is global, so the properties you set apply to all Impressario sprites on stage.
