Product Description

INM GoldenGate Database Connector (GGDBC) is a server that extends the abilities of rich-media clients to manage data over the Internet by directly connecting to your existing ODBC databases (Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, MS Access, etc).

  • Includes Microsoft Data Engine (MSDE), which is based on the same data engine as SQL Server.
  • Free client Xtras available for Adobe Director, Shockwave and Authorware.
  • No SQL knowledge required (but SQL is fully supported).
  • Use any standard ODBC database as a back-end.
  • No server side scripting (or debugging) required.
  • Simultaneously supports Shockwave, Director and Authorware projects connecting to up to 128 ODBC databases.
  • Works over any TCP/IP network, including the Internet, Intranets and Extranets, as well as most VPNs.
  • Client-side API is very similar to that of INM V12 Database/INM VizionDB - simple to learn and use.
  • Easily upgrade projects that use INM VizionDB, DataGrip or INM V12 Database.
  • INM GoldenGate Client Features: genuinely cross-platform, no installation required, requires no messy DLLs to install on your client's machines, and no reboot, shockwave-compatible, Verisign approved, store, index, sort, search and retrieve any type of data (strings, integers, floating numbers, dates), as well as store and retrieve any type of media (pictures, sounds, palettes, etc.) that can be stored in a Director cast member or Authorware piece, powerful search functions, allows you to use SQL-type queries directly, sort and search data in English, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Spanish, Swedish, Hebrew, etc, requires less than 200k of disk space.
  • INM GoldenGate Server Features: runs as a standard Service with a standard administration control panel under Windows NT and Windows 2000, file format is specifically adapted for multimedia applications, and offers features such as variable record-lengths and real-time indexing, built-in support for popular ODBC databases, bundled with a universal ODBC driver, supports level 2 ODBC databases like MySQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle and MS Access, database validation tool provided for other standard ODBC databases, built-in User Access Control to manage database user access at the click of a button.

Technical Requirements

  • GGDBC Client Xtra: Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, PowerMac (Mac OS 7.6.1+), Mac OS X, TCP/IP network access, 200 k of free disk space, Adobe Director 7.02 - MX or Macromedia Authorware 4.0 - 7.0 for authoring
  • GGDBC Server: Windows NT, 2000, XP, TCP/IP network access, memory and storage requirements vary according to scope of project, ODBC database required to store and retrieve data.

Licensing Requirements

As per section 4 of the INM GoldenGate licensing agreement, all products produced using INM GoldenGate must contain the "Enhanced with INM GoldenGate" logo in the credits section or in the introduction screen or on a visible part of the physical packaging. See the download center to download the logos. Complying with this requirement does not release you from purchasing INM GoldenGtate before publishing your project and distributing it to your clients.
